About
Greetings Blogosphere
I decided it was high time to assemble and distill some of my interests and knowledge so that (1) The more relevant things were readily reference-able and (2) maybe others could get some use out of it. Although, I can hear my friends now … what a geek!
Everyone is a geek about something(s), or should be. As the pace of technological innovation accelerates every year, it is becoming harder for the average business web user to figure out what to do, what is important, how to get started, and what has changed lately that is a need-to-know. It’s not easy for me and I follow this space!

It is becoming clearer that some sort of web presence and discoverability is now more important than ever, since that is where we research, transact and socialize. Your current and future prospects, customers, competitors and colleagues are already out there – hanging back is no longer a real option.
Another trend is that more people are now self-employed, unemployed, under-employed, in transition, at-risk, and job security is truly fleeting, particularly in these times. The good news is that the web is a huge equalizer – it is now possible to create a significant online presence, and make a real impact, from your home office “World Headquarters”. It does require some work, but imagine getting tons of web traffic, and building a large online community of customers, prospects, fans, colleagues at virtually no cost – that’s pretty interesting.
So … this blog will cover a variety of topics. Some of them related to high-end web development which is what I do, and also to the everyday, practical issues faced by the “web constituents”, in their various roles. For all, my goal is to distill and net-out the most important items, remove the noise, and provide “actionable intelligence” on how to proceed. Making something succinct is way harder than spewing forth, so I welcome feedback when I have not achieved the desired level of clarity on a subject.
I have a particular interest in making this useful to small businesses since they typically don’t have the $ or time to acquire the knowledge or effect a good implementation.
There is also a food section, because we all have to eat. And now that I can cook, preparing, consuming and discussing great food with friends … dining … is way better than just eating.
Regards
PH
